a deck of cards

Imagine each day of your life as a card in a deck of cards – you start with the ‘ace’ then 2 and 3 and so on till today, the last card in your deck.

Imagine their order randomized by shuffling. Today you find yourself with a hand of memories from your 2 years old birthday, 8th grade math class knowledge, an emotional jolt you had in your 20's, 12 years of running training and 5 years of marriage

Play it well, tomorrow you’ll have another hand to play!

Jetlag

Everywhere you go… always take your time with you.

Is like distance or location does not count – a Brit will have his 5 o’clock tea in Japan, a French will have the lunch at 12.30 regardless what (and where),  a Spaniard will be up for a party at 1am even in Norway!!!

It feels like we pack our time along with socks and shoes and once on new coordinates we take it out and live it as at home.

I call this ‘cultural jetlag’ and wonder what pills would be a good cure to it!??!?

room with a view

Maison Horta in Brussels. Room with a view to a beautiful late 19th century garden – the same view for more than 100 years yet everyday so different and new.

Perfection stays in details (or so it’s said). Perhaps this is because details keep changing with the time while the main frame stays, apparently, the same.

Perhaps perfection stays in experiencing different time speeds and different time consistencies at once.

Perfection stays in many ways … maybe this could be one of them

happiness

Don’t make happiness a goal ...

                                         ... make it a habit!

choice

Is not the choice that matters …

…. what really matters is what you make out of its outcome

progress, learn, experience … anything but stagnate

in a changing world stagnation is bad – dare to make a choice!

hear

Hear grass growing

Hear clouds passing by

Hear yourself hearing the silence

And you’ll hear your heart hoping ...

pause

… pauses for reflection, pauses for reclusion, pauses for re-birth, pauses between births …
we take pauses, we give other pauses from their worryness or happiness, we crave for pauses, we fear them too

I heard about time management, cultural management, business management, success management, expectation management and so on, and so forth

I speculate sometimes about numbness management, silence management, dreams management, nothingness management, and the kind … meanwhile I manage to take pauses from hastiness, from healthiness, from myself

Shards

A crystal cup; amazing object and what a sound!!! so beautiful, so pure and so enchanting. The slightest crack will spoil its magic, will crock the light and make its sound so hoarse, so vulgar.

What makes its magic so complete and pure, what makes it so fragile and sound?

A crystal cup is humans’ soul. It cracks sometimes, is full of sorrow yet so surprisingly regains its beauty just with one drop of love and seas of hope

Week spot

Cleaning the closet, all ranged, all clean … and then you find a sock, a scarf, a last item that you forgot about and fucks up all your order.

Sometimes life feels just like this: all is ordered packed and sorted, perfect symmetry and balance. Then a song, an image, a word, a taste or God knows what make you crumble inside, tears start running, heart starts crying – all fucked up!

Is this what makes us human? Is this fragility, instability, inconsistence that makes swim times’ wave up and down in fraction of a second and then come back where we have never been? Is this the price or the reward for having feelings, for being human?

Trees

Gray, cold, wet day; winter seems will never end.

The perfect time to learn from trees!

Look at some trees how start to turn their brunches greenish - yellow, fill them up with vital sap, waiting quietly for the spring when they'll erupt in a full, amazing blossom.

Look at those tree and learn! Prepare your blossom and make it last not for a week, not for a spring, prepare your blossom for this life and make it last eternities!

Old pictures

Are pictures like wine? Older they are better they are?

Look at that goofy face, the big pimple or the atrocious sweater that made us wish to burn that picture, destroy it with a photonic blaster yet look at it now, 20 years after.  So much emotions, almost tears, the pimple is not even there, the goofy face is so. so dear, the sweater brings warm smiles and memories.

Why can’t we look to present pictures with the same detachment as to the old ones? Do we always have to treasure smiles, warmth, feelings until they turn a little bitter a little sour like old wine?

Layer cake

Sometimes life looks like a layer cake; each layer separated from each other: work, love, hobby, friends, etc.

Sometimes life looks like a layer cake; each layer separated from each other: some layers sweet some dark some unmistakable, some unforgettable, some unforgivable.

I like the creamy cakes, with loads of cream and layer that brakes and intermingle creating a complex construct of thought and feelings and tastes and flavors.

Vive le cremsnit de la vie; vive cette vie comme un cremsnit!!!

something borrowed ...

... somehting when you'r blue.
I borrowed this lines; I found them true!

'Break the rules,
Forgive quickly,
Kiss slowly,
Love truly,
Laugh uncontrollably,
And never regret anything that made you smile.
BE HAPPY FOR NO REASON !
Don’t make happiness depend on external circumstances or will never get there'

sun

there are days when sun shines so brightly and friendly that all buildings look nice and people beautiful and handsome

I often wonder what one should do to cast this light around oneself and see the world in cheerful mood in every day and night one has

Maybe one day I’ll make jewelries to shine this light in the gray day

Until that day I’ll pray the sun to case a blissful light on mankind!

Solipsism

‘Solipsism as an epistemological position holds that knowledge of anything outside one's own mind is unsure.’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism).  I laughed so much when I red this thinking ‘do I or other people have at least a vague approximation of what is inside own mind???’

However, many times I feel that there is nothing outside our own mind and the entire Universe, with small and giant, is the creation of our brain. Therefore we meet people (or other brains, other projections) and events that have something in common with our way of building realities and shaping Universes.

How complicate some thinks may seam in their vast simplicity; they’re so real yet they same like chimaera blown by the wind!

Stretch

There is a saying ‘The length of a minute depends entirely on what side of the bathroom door you are on.’

There are places where at 5pm morning seams so far away, like a memory from a past life and evening opens broad to you with many, many things to do.

There are places where at 5pm morning seams like 2 minutes away and evening seams to have only few hours till we go to sleep and woke up another day.

What gives time density and substance? What makes it meaningful and rich? Why one would trade a life of bounty for a speed rush through days and nights?

Questions

I have always been fascinated of how the world around me changes when viewed through the many facets of a crystal, how each facet represents a new image of the same … reality.

Are these “realities” communicating with each other? When we look through a crystal facet do we all see the same image?

When we look the world through the crystal of our mind … how many different faces of the same we see?

freedom

such a wonderful concept, an idea to fight and die for yet what is freedom?
I heard stories of people who found freedom in the prison

They freed themselves of own fears, thoughts, anxieties ... monsters eroding their joy of life

What is it freedom and where shall we look for it?

Ask it for governments, tyrannic bosses, mean landlords ...
... or find it in oneself?

Scratched CD's

Scratched CD's - that keep repeating the same tune, again, and again and again
As if they are stuck at the minute 3.45 and can’t get any further, anymore
Like some of us – sometimes trapped at the minute 3.15 a certain day, a certain hour
Keep seeing and living that moment on and on and on until … until someone or something hits the player, we skip the moment and go to the next tune;

... or that someone change the CD and then, we'll sing our song alone

Anesthesia

I came home with a soul broken like a crystal glass that felt from heaven and hit the pavement.
10.000 sharp shards stinging so hard

I came home to found that my house was broken
Camera gone (sorry, no pictures for a while)

For few good hours I was numb … and partially I still am
Such unexpected anesthesia the universe can bring sometimes

How unexpected life can be ... sometimes with good, sometimes with bad

void

Avoid the void! Ignore it! Step aside! Don’t look at it! Don’t think about! Isn’t this what we are always advised about?

In Zen philosophy it is said that the essence of an ewe is not the clay that it is made of but its hollow inside, the void that let one carry fresh water, oil or wine.

Sometimes the void has its own purpose … sometimes it is so hard to carry it …

sun in a puddle

after rain sun shines in every muddy puddle – as gold lays deep hidden within and the sun makes it shine again

blessed is the one who sees the puddles’ gold when rains pours down, when wind blows fiercely

riche is the  one who knows that, despite some have rains and storms, sun shines again on every lucky day

Inspired by a picture from Hanne with a classical building reflected in a puddle; where are you Hanne? where?

roller coaster

the roller coaster - the joy of kids and adults equally, the rush of adrenaline every descend, the breath of relief when going up

it seams we like it so much that we projected in our life, attracting events that take our breath away hoping for the amazing feeling of relief that comes after a crisis

a rollercoaster seams to be our life; as long as none derails is fine

walking on a wire

Funny walk is life indeed, like a walk on wires; always fighting gravity, striving to keep balance, fighting for each further step till one day the fight is lost … and we fall …

… on another wire, and we care no more about gravity or other laws, and we jump and run back and forth on our wire till … we fall …

… on another wire, on another life, on new circumstance or … flat on the ground.

Funny walk is life indeed, never know where next step leads

frozen time

food in the fridge last longer than outside
food in the freezer last even longer
as the lower the temperature the slower time passes
as the lower the temperature the thicker time becomes
is time a fluid that freezes sometimes or passes very fast when we are heated?

I can’t wait for that day!

silent disco

I love Silent Disco – people wearing headphones and moving vigorously on the rhythm of a music heard only by them.

I fancy being a DJ to a silent disco. Mid party I'd mix the music - some will hear Waltz other Cha-Cha, or Tango or Rumba, but would keep trying to dance together.

Would be like life – we dance together but often on a different music.

Compass

On an ocean of thoughts
On a storm of emotions

What compass one should use
When navigating seas of views?

Where one should head
When no destination is ahead?

Bring the oceans back to sources
Be the rain and not the sea

Let your thoughts to navigate you
Let your spirit to be free

Inspired by ‘the writer anguish’ while I am trying myself to put some lines on paper and, strangely, by an image I’ve seen as a child in the Middle Age Art section of a museum

Forgotten glory …

… of streets bursting of merchants and carts’ rattles, before the shopping mall was built
… of cities, proudly displaying wealth and arrogance, before trucks were invented and their shelter not anymore required
… of scientist and writers who’s great achievements were obliterated by other scientists and writers or just by the passage of time.

Sic transit gloria mundi is a Latin phrase that means "Thus passes the glory of the world". It has been interpreted as "Worldly things are fleeting."

Glory, deceitful coin; so much to lose, so little gain and even that so subjective and vain.

Inspired by a Sunday afternoon to a castle set on the crossroad of salt routes, before salt became commodity
